Looking for a new OB...any suggestions?

Ok so I know that this is a really weird post but I recently found out that my amazing OB/GYN was recently promoted to be an administrator and will no longer be practicing. Needless to say I am absolutely devistated, and am now looking for a new doctor. I have been looking at lists of names but it is pretty scary to see a name and wonder what kind of doctor they are. So if any of you have a great doctor shoot their name across that way I have some reccomendations from people I know!

I like Mark Curtis from Western OBGYN. He is the one that delivered Mariah. (I don't know if you like a man doctor or not though.) I had a male doctor for Brooklyn, a female for Aleigha and a male for Mariah, and my worst pregnancy experience was with the woman. Hope that helps!

I see Mark Curtis from Western OBGYN, too, and I LOOOOOOOVE him! I switched from Dr. to Dr. and I hated my women Drs. too. Mark just never makes you feel stupid and takes the time you need for whatever - and knows his stuff since he has been practicing so long. He is Stuart Curtis's from HS - not sure if you know him. Anyway, I will never see another OB and when he retires I retire from having kids and exams. =) Ok I am exaggerating a little =).

My Doc is Dr. Alan Rappleye. He is at old farm ob/gyn or 39th s and 7th east. Its kind of far for you but he is a great doc, with all the complications I had i don't know if alex would be as happy and HEALTHY with out him.
Mindy goes to a lady by the sandy city buiding off 106th. She said she really like her too. Don't remember her name though

Well, I don't know where you deliver, but at IMC I see Dr. Irion. He started at Cottonwood and was there until they closed. My mom is a labor and delivery nurse and has worked with him for about 30 years. My hubby's family are in his stake and have also known him for years and years. He is TERRIFIC!!! Even when we lived in Utah county I refused to see anyone else. He has delivered all 4 of my kids and I have had nothing but amazing experiences with him. He is funny, makes you feel at ease, kind, knowledgable and pretty much the best doctor ever. Anyway, he also has several partners (they are still called Cottonwood OB/GYN)I have recommended him to many friends and family members and all of the ones that have chosen to see him love him and also will not go to any other dr. Sorry for the novel of a comment, but seriously, I love him!

I love Dr. Mark Curtis at Western GYNOB as well. He is totally awesome! He delivered both of my kids, he is great! He makes you feel so comfortable, and he has so much experience and he knows the answer to everything. If you decide to go to him call now to schedule an appointment, for new patients he is almost two months out, but you might just luck out. I also think that since 3 people told you about him, that you should go to him.

I am super weird about male Doctors, so I had to find a female and several people recommended her! Her name is Dr. Melissa Brown at IMC (excellent hospital too). I LOVE LOVE LOVE her, she is a heavy set woman (and a member of the church), she makes you feel so good about yourself when you are 9 months pregnant and 50 lbs overweight! And labor was so so awesome with her, she is very calming! Anyway she is wonderful I definitely recommend her, wont go to ANYONE else:) Good luck

BRITT!!! GO TO COTTONWOOD OB/GYN!!! They are it IMC!! It a group of about 8 or 9 doctors, and I have heard so many people go to them!! I see Dr. Froerer!! But Dr. Irion is great too!! I don't think you could go wrong with either of them, or the entire group for that matter!!! Good luck!!

This was fun to read! I have loved Dr. Quinn he works with Dr. Curtis. I choose not to go to Dr. Curtis though because I was at his house growing up too much hanging out with Stuart! Laura loved him though. He delivered Haylee. I do love my doctor though-he is moving close to you:0) P.S. How did the BIG dance kickoff orientation go today?

I loved loved my obgyn, Hannele Laine at the Salt Lake Women's Clinic (she's downtown though) She came in the middle of the night to help deliver Taft and whenever I was in her office I never felt rushed and she was so empathetic towards all womanly probelms.

This was so helpful. Thank you for asking this questions. Due to our infertility I have many Dr's down there and have hated it! I have never been pregnant probably never will be pregnant so I need to only see a Dr every three years and it is time but I have been avoiding it but I feel more comfortable with these great recommendations. Have you gone into any of these yet? adriennedonner @gmail.com

This is my favorite pic of her holding on to grandpa's finger

This is our baby girl at 16 weeks. It was such an amazing thing to see her moving and count all of her fingers and toes for the first time. I know I bawled and Chris won't admitt it, but he was pretty emotional as well.

It's a girl!
