Shoe Fetish!

I think it is safe to say that Lydia has a bit of a shoe fetish. All day long all I hear is "shoe, shoe shoe!" She brings me about 10 pairs of shoes from my closet at various times of the day and she wants to either put them on me or she wants me to put them on her. It is hilarious. It is even to the point where I have to avoid the shoe aisle completely or we will be there for hours while she touches every pair and looking so excited says "shoe shoe!"

Besides the shoe fetish she is becoming quite the talker. She is starting to put phrases together. This morning I took a bath, after I got out of the tub and the water was draining Lydia ran over to the edge and excitedly waved and said "bye-bye bubble!" She did it several times until all the bubbles were completely gone. And anyone she sees wearing jewelry she will say "Cute!" The other day I was putting on a necklace while she was in the room with me and she said "Cute mama!" It was so funny! I'm telling ya the girl cracks me up and not a day goes by that I'm not so greatful to have her in my life!

Back to School!

Sunday we took Lydia and Che' over to our neighborhood school to play on the playground, we figured that Che' would be able to play as well because there wouldn't be anyone there. Well let me tell you it certainly took me back. It was so funny in the kindergarten area they had left all the balls, hoola hoops, and other various items out and we had a blast. Lydia was in heaven running from toy, to toy and going down the slides all by herself. Chris loved playing soccer with Che' (minus when he kicked the ball against the wall and it hit Lydia in the head.) And I was having a blast taking pictures as well as having a hoola hoop contest with Chris in which I crushed him.

Anyways I won't lie there is something about a school playground and actually an elementary school all together that is somewhat magical. I love the smell of the school and the sight of those yellow and red playground balls. Even to this day nothing beats a pack of new, unbroken crayons in a cleaned out totray. I loved being a teacher and sometimes I miss that I got to be reminded of how great it is to be a kid every day, but now I have my own little one to remind me. While we were at the school I told Chris that it seemed kind of weird that in a couple of years we will be dropping Lydia off at that school and I will be putting my baby in the hands of a teacher. Anyways we had fun and it brought up some fun, and funny memories of being in elementary school.

Fall Line Up!

Ok so Chris and I when it comes to television we are pretty pathetic. I swear that due to the invention of the DVR we are absolutely ruined. Anyways yes it is ridiculous how many shows we are absolutely obsessed with but now that it is fall so many of our shows are on again. Thank you thank you (ha ha ha!) Anyways I thought it would be comical to actually see how many shows we watch and prove just how obsessed we are.

Monday

House-Atleast we are only into one medical show, right.

Intervention-How did those people get like that?

Hoarders-My new favorite...thanks Liz! I am now the opposite I throw everything away even if I think I need it just because I don't want to become like them ha ha ha!

24-Doesn't start until January boo hoo! Considering naming my first born son after him in hopes he will some day save the united states 24 hrs a day!

The Bachelor and Bachelorette-I hate watching this show though because I come away feeling like "hey why don't we go on a date that involves helicopter rides, waterfalls, personal concerts, and huge diamond necklaces?"

Tuesday

HELL'S Kitchen-I LOVE Chef Ramsey, it is one of my dreams to either eat at one of his restaurants or eat at Hell's Kitchen while he is there. We actually have Justin and Lindsey over every Tuesday just to watch this show.

American Idol-Simon how I love your square hair and your gray tee-shirts.

Wednesday

So you think you can dance- Yet another reality contest show, this one I actually watch to see the amazing dancers as well as get ideas for the studio as far as music and choreography. I have even gotten Chris so into it he critiques the dancers (ha ha ha!)

American Idol- The results show...why do they make us wait so long?

GLEE- This is a new found show, we have started watching it three times only to turn it off that night and swear we hate it. Then we wake up and finish it the next morning and some how it is funny again. I don't know what to say, we are weird!

Thursday

(when Darin was home this was called Thrilling Thursday!)

Kath and Kim-ok I don't know what happened to that show but we loved Kath and Kim not so much them but the guys in that show were hillarious.

Parks and Recreation- It started out slow but as totally grown on us. Who would've thought building a park could be so funny?

The office-This is no minor obsession, I'm telling you people I cried when Jim and Pam finally went on a date, and cried even harder when they got engaged. It is pretty serious.

30 Rock-yet another new found favorite, we love this show. Every character is funny and, it is definitely a show that you find yourself quoting in regular conversation, like "Shut it down", "your burnt", or our personal favorite "what the what?"

Friday

The soup-what would we do without Joel Mchale to make fun of all the stupid shows we watch or don't watch during the week?

Dateline NBC-I don't know why we watch this show it always leaves me feeling paranoid that Chris is getting ideas for the perfect crime (ha ha ha!)

Saturday

I know it is a miracle but we don't have any shows we regularly watch on Saturdays (ha ha ha!)

Sunday

The Apprentice-Nothing beats Donald Trump firing Chole Kardashian because she got a DUI, he told her he doesn't like people who drink and drive (ha ha ha your burnt!)

The Shark Tank-This is actually Chris new show, I think he would like to be on the show one day, as a shark of course.

Now I know what you are thinking they are pathetic, what do they do all day sit around and watch T.V. well I have to say before the invention of DVR this list was about 1/4 of the size. But now that we can fast forward through commercials and watch at our own convienence we are ruined. So hopefully some of you relate and to the rest of you, you can say it we are PATHETIC!!!

Birthday Month!

Well September is the month of Birthday's for us. I celebrate mine on the 3rd and Chris' is on the 9th. It was a great year for both of us. I will say for some reason 27 just kind of stinks. I am no longer in my mid 20's i'm now in my late 20's AAAAAHHHHH, I don't want to get any older. Anyways for my birthday Chris took me to "500 days of Summer" a really cute movie and then to my favorite Cheesecake factory. For Chris' birthday we went to China Grill and Neilsen's forzen custard for desert. We both got pretty spoiled from our families. We celebrated on Labor day with Chris family (and I'm sad but we didn't get any pics.) And then we celebrated with my family today. I feel so blessed to have such amazing family and friends in my life and even though I hate getting older I have great people to share my life with and so it's worth it!
Anyways shout out to the following September B-Days!
3rd-Me!
6th- Mr. Colby Miller

My cute brother Tyler...we were glad he could grace us with his cool college presence (ha ha ha!) Thanks Ty for adding to Lydia's rock collection!

My studly brother Derek, who gave Chris and I some really thoughtful gifts...he was always good at that sort of thing.
P.S. Thanks mom and dad for the gifts as well, and Congrats to Dad for completing the LOTOJA...we forgive you for falling alseep, I would've been dead in the grave if I had ridden my bike for 12 hours, you are amazing!

Remembrance Field!

Sandy City put out an American Flag for every life lost due to the 9/11 attacks. It is such an amazingly humbling thing to look down and the the endless rows of flags. It really make you think we can not forget!

What women want!

Dance Classes with Miss Lydia!

Ok girls we will start with our arabesque...

moving into our relevat' and onto...

kicks!!!
Lydia is so funny we can say tippy toes down and we get a relevet. She will kick when we say kick and she does turns. What can I say that is what happens when your mom runs a dance studio!

Labor Day @ Powell!

Well we had a great Labor day weekend. Thursday evening we headed down to Lake Powell...I know what your thinking, AGAIN (oh don't worry we are going again the end of the month, what can I say Everythings better at Powell!) This trip was especially fun because our favorites the Babcocks were there. They are family friends who are more like family. It was so fun to spend the weekend with Liz and Mike and their darling kids Ethan, Sam and Mia. It seems a little weird that they are getting older, Ethan is getting his license soon which absolutely blows my mind. Derek also made it down this trip, he hasn't been for about 2 years and it was really fun to have his humor. The only downer was that Chris couldn't miss work, so we missed him desperately and I've decided I don't envy single parents it is tough work.

Some of the highlights from the trip were...
1. Watching Ethan wake board, and surf. It was his first time surfing and he had wake boarded once before and he did a great job, he looked like an old pro.
2. Sam's funny remarks and reactions...i.e. punching the water when he got fed up with wake boarding. He is the cutest kid and he doesn't even know it.
3. Mia's dance moves and her amazing tubing skills. I love Mia she reminds me of myself. She has the cutest freckles and I love her laugh. She was the queen of apples to apples and was always a big help with Lydia.
4. Mike and my dad spending the better part of Friday getting the sattelite set up so we could watch the BYU vs. Oklahoma game...it was pretty funny. We even got to the point where Liz was on a phone upstairs and Mike on a phone downstairs to get more reliable info about the sattelite.
5. Costco cupcakes for Breakfast.
6. Catching up with Lizzy, I love Liz and have always looked up to her I can only hope that my family turns out half as well as hers has. I love hearing all her funny stories and remembering old funny stories (i.e. Matt Workman and The Red Iguana incident!)
7. Lydia saying "doggy" about everything she saw the entire trip, it was pretty cute and so funny. Also she had so much fun in the water this trip.
8. Derek's cool swimming suit./tennis shorts!
9. Watching "The Office", "Seinfeld", "Hoarders" and many other great shows on the Babcocks DVR.
10. Everything being better in Powell!

Ethan grinding on the wake board

Liddy content being on Nana's lap while the kids wake boarded!

Darling Mia, she was the flag girl for the better part of the trip!

Lydia steering the boat...NOT!

Lydia's favorite new buddy SAM...She absolutely loved Sam and he was absolutely darling with her. He would do space ship with her and lift her up and she would just giggle.
Thanks Mom and Dad for another great trip and Babcock's I am so glad you guys came, we love you and hope you come again!

This is my favorite pic of her holding on to grandpa's finger

Baby Girl

Baby Girl
This is our baby girl at 16 weeks. It was such an amazing thing to see her moving and count all of her fingers and toes for the first time. I know I bawled and Chris won't admitt it, but he was pretty emotional as well.

It's a girl!

It's a girl!

She's going to be a dancer
