Ikea and 14 months and counting!

Lydia not eating her dinner because playing was so much more fun.

It was funny a little boy would get them all lined up and Lydia would come right over and mess them up.

Were trying a new do...pig tails. It's hard when she won't keep headbands on and she has so little hair, so I'm trying my best.

We went to the driving range after IKEA...needless to say I didn't get much practice on my swing (ha ha ha!)
Well for "Family night" we went to Ikea and had dinner and did a little shopping. I swear all I can say is the Swedish got it right. It is such a family oriented store and they seriously make shopping doable. We decided they came up with Ikea, H&M and the swedish fish so they are ok in our book.

Also wanted to do a little update on Lydia I haven't updated on her forever. She is officially 14months-going on 16yrs I swear. She is so much fun, I always tell myself oh she can't get any cuter or any more fun and she always ceases to amaze me.
She is very independent. The other night we were at the park with some friends and we couldn't find Lydia for 2.5 seconds. Well the little stinker had climbed up the playground and gone off this huge slide on her stomach all by her self. It scared her a little and she cried for like 2 seconds then she wanted down and wanted to try it again. Needless to say she is pretty daring as well.
She is extremely dramatic. She has started to throw temper tantrums on a regular basis. They are pretty funny. She will flail herslef and turn all red and has even gone as far as to thow things like her sippy cup or toys or binky. I know I shouldn't laugh and that I will pay for it but right now I think they are hillarious.
She is talking more and more. We were at the park and after we got off the slide she turned around and touched the slide and in a whisper she said "hot" it was so funny I swear I didn't teach her that one on purpose. She says "thank-you" and it is now recogonizable by people other than me. She says "NO!" to every dog she see's (I blame myself because every time she is around Che' all she hears me say is NO!) She loves to nod her head "yes" and "No" and when she nods her head yes she gives this big grin and goes YEAH! She also goes weee and woohoo at the park when she goes off of stuff.
Teeth...well she officially has three molars. She got an upper and lower on the right side about a month ago and yesterday a lower left molar just cut through. We tease Lydia that she has the V sweat all the time because of all the slobber. She has been remarkably happy too for how painful I'm sure they are.
She is still sleeping like a champ. I swear that kid is the best she takes a morning and afternoon nap and goes down by 7 and wakes at 8. I'm not going to lie I feel pretty blessed and only hope I my other kids can take notes from their older sis.
She also loves her food. Her favorite food right now is water-melon, blackbeans (still), green beans, peas, ritz crackers, pizza, strawberries, of course anything sugary, cream of wheat and much more. She loves her milk, and juice out of her sippy cup, but she is not really obsessed with it she will drink from whatever, a cup, a straw a bottle or her sippy cup.
She does have a few obsessions that I thinka re awesome. She has a baby blanket that she absolutely cannot live without and she is now loving her baby. She will carry them both around any chance she get's. In the morning I have to set both baby and blanket with her in the high chair while she is eating.

She LOVES water. That kid has gills I swear. Any time she can be in the water, splashing is or sitting in it she will. It makes me laugh because I have learned I can't clean the tubs while she is awake because the other day she had three baths because I had already given her one and as I cleaned each tub she would freak out...throwing a tantrum until I put her in again. I love it though. It was even funny because when we were at lake Powell all the kids were going off the slide and Lydia kept going over then and all of a sudden she was trying to go down the slide. When we tried to pull her away she yet again freaked out. So finally we relented and let her go down and my dad caught her before she hit the water. I love it.
She is also my new garbage girl. Everytime I turn around she is putting something else into the garbage. It took me a while to realize that this is what was happening so we lost a couple of shoes, amongst other things that I have yet to notice I'm sure.

Caught red handed

Anyways she is growing and turning into such the little girl. I have so much fun being Lydia's mommy and feel so lucky to have her in my life. I swear I don't know what I would do without the little toad.
P.S. A big CONGRATULATIONS to my sister-in-law Lindsey...she just got a job as a third grade teacher at Crescent Elementary. She is going to be an awesome teacher!

Livin' it up at the hotel Mirage, Lake powell!

Lake powell

Ok so these pictures are in absolutely no particular order. My computer was acting crazy and not downloading pictures the way I was putting them in , and then for some reason I can't move them once they are on the post.

Anyways we were so fortunate to be invited on yet another amazing vacation to Lake Powell with my Parents. We stayed in the slip in Bullfrog and we had so much fun . The weather for the most part was really good and we have lot's of good food mixed with good friends and family and over all it was an absolute blast.
Playing softball at the high school, I have never laughed so hard. Tyler slid every time he went to third and it was hillarious.
Playing at the playground.

That is one rock I wouldn't want to hit, they are standing on a rock in the middle of the channel.

One of the nights there was a rain storm blowing in so we drove up to the high school and played a friendly game of soft ball. It was pretty funny my dad and Tyler got pretty competitive and everyone kept joking that we were trying to copy "Twilight" it was actually really fun and will most likely become a lake Powell tradition.

There was a fun playground at the school, so Lydia was somewhat entertained during the game.

Tyler and Brad jumping into the slip next to us...if you can't tell all the crap from the entire lake was stuck in that slip and they were so funny because they thought it was so cool to jump into it.

Daddy giving Lydia a bath in her own Lake Powell hot tub!

Cookies with mommy...Lydia probably put on a few oz while the rest of us put on a few pounds. The food was so dang good.

Lydia loves sharing gatorade with Chris...she recently learned how to suck out of a straw which makes restaurant dining so much easier.

Chris trying out his new father's day gift...he almost landed his roll this trip so we are convinced that the wake board was worth it.

Sean and Brad Tyler's roomates...they were funny guys. Thanks Sean for making it a Jai Ho vacation (ha ha ha!)

My cute brother Tyler, Ok so I know I am his older sister but I think that he is the cutest kid ever. He was hillarious on this trip with all his unmeant to be funny comments.

On the way to a ski run in the morning we found a boat full of Lake Powell workers who were stranded so we ended up towing them back to the rental dock. They were trying to walk their boat back to the dock along the tires...it was pretty funny!

My amazing husband...I swear I love him more than he will ever know.

My cute mom, she was awesome this trip she water skiied almost every morning with my dad and I and she even surfed.

My darling Aunt Roberta. This was her first real trip to lake Powell and she lived it up. It was so much fun having her there, and she was really determined to ski.

Lydia in her awesome muscle girl swimsuit!

Old Friends + Cheese Cake Factory = Good Times

Lacey, Lindsey, Jinger, Kelly, Me
I got together with some friends that I was on drill with for lunch at Cheese Cake. Lindsey was in town from Texas, she is 5 months along and you can't even tell. And the stars just aligned that we were all able to get together finally. What else can I say I love these girls and even though I don't see them nearly as often as I would like it was so nice to see them all again. It made my week for sure.

Happy Father's day!

Ok ok so I know that father's day was forever ago but I left my camera at my SIL's house so I haven't been able to blog about it. Anyways this year Chris got super spoiled he has been completely obsessed with tree farms. He made friends with a little old guy that owns a tree farm off of Dimple dell and so we went and got him a mature sub-alpine tree for our front yard. We realized really quickly that having clay is makes things somewhat difficult, but it made for quite the show watching Chris and Justin put the tree in. He also got a much needed wake board. My parents old one was extremely uncomfortable for Chris and his new one is so much better. Anyways I feel so lucky that I am married to such an amazing person who loves our daughter more than anything else in this world.

Now as for my dad what else can I say except for he is the most amazing dad ever. He is so hardworking and so committed to everything he does. He is always there when you need him and he would do anything for his kids and his grand kid (ha ha ha!) Anyways I feel so blessed to have such an amazing dad! So happy father's day daddy.

I'm talking about the man in the mirror!

OK OK so I know that Michael Jackson got totally weird in his later years he went from A.B.C. to CRAZY, but who are we kidding the KING OF POP is dead. I will be the first to admitt my heart sank BAD when I heard about his death. He will always be one of if not the most "Thriller-ing" musicians ever, (even if Billy Jean is not my lover.) It makes me sad when my dance studio girls have no idea who he is ( I tell them it doesn't matter if your black or white) and I usually take it upon myself to make sure that they leave my studio with a proper Michael Jackson 101 education. I love his music, reguardless of what he looked like. So to all you fellow M.J. fans...we gotta keep the faith!

Late Lake Powell over Memorial day pics!

Well for Memorial day this year we went down to Lake Powell and stayed on my Parents house boat. It was so much fun. We had some rainy weather on Saturday, but we made the most of it and enjoyed the sun on Sunday and Monday! Thanks again mom and dad for inviting us and thanks for all your help with Lydia! Lydia helping dad get ready for powell.
Saturday it rained so we had to resort to other measures...

that's where garbage bags came in handy!

Lydia really enjoyed playing with the marine band...

she loves anything that resembles a cell phone!

Since it was rainy Chris built Lydia a fort to play in with the mats up top...

That's my husband for ya.

Fuzzy pic of us, yes we need a new camera.

Liddy with her Nana and G-Pa

I can't wait for the day I can get a pic with Lydia where she is looking at the camera (ha ha ha!)

I took and shower on the house boat and so Lydia had to have a bath...You have got to love that bubble butt!

Lydia absolutely loved the boat. She cried when we took her off the back of the boat.

We love Lake Powell and hopefully Lydia will love it as much as we do!

We found a cool little rock island and so we jumped out and let Lydia play around. She had so much fun, she would splash and giggle and she loved sitting and letting the waves rush over her.

My little water baby.
We are training Lydia early that the best water is at first light...the skiers wake up early while the wakeboarders sleep in and get crappy water (ha ha ha!)
Her future is so bright she has to wear shades!

Sunny Sunday's

I don't know if everyone is like us but I look forward to Sunday's for a couple of reasons. Number one it feels like life slows down for 2.5 seconds which is much needed by the end of the week. And number two because we always have Sunday dinner with either my parents or Chris' parents. I know we are old enough and now that we have a kid we should be doing Sunday dinners at our own house but I just love going and having my mom and mother-in-laws cooking. Needless to say I am not the best cook. Anyways this Sunday was no exception I called my mom and even though she wasn't sure if we were coming she had plenty of good food and afterwards we went out on the deck and Lydia played with her G-pa. It was a great afternoon and just added to why I love Sunday's so much! Lydia eating her all time favorite snack...Gold fish. I swear that child is obsessed.
I love her little sunflower outfit.

Climbing on the rocks with G-pa. She would take all the little rocks she could find and throw them off the wall, it was pretty cute and even though my dad was right there she was pretty fearless.

Look what I can do!

Sitting on Nana and G-pa's rocking chairs. I don't think she would remember but right after she was born she was extremely colicky and my dad used to rock her in that chair to get her to sleep so I could get some rest.

This is my favorite pic of her holding on to grandpa's finger

Baby Girl

Baby Girl
This is our baby girl at 16 weeks. It was such an amazing thing to see her moving and count all of her fingers and toes for the first time. I know I bawled and Chris won't admitt it, but he was pretty emotional as well.

It's a girl!

It's a girl!

She's going to be a dancer
