Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving

Well I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

I feel like I have to so much to be thankful for so here are a few...

I'm thankful for the blessings of living in this amazing country, where men fight for our right to dictate our own lives.

I'm thankful for a warm home where I can spend time with my family without the worries of cold or hunger.

I'm thankful for good friends...there is something that being with good friends does to you, even chocolate can't compete!

I'm thankful for family and loved ones who are close and always willing to help.

I'm thankful for my beautiful daughter Lydia and the joy she brings to my life, she is my life and every day I thank God for giving her to me.

I'm thankful for my amazing husband, for his hard work and the way that he supports our family. He bears so much of the burden of providing for us, and he does it without hesitation or complaint.

I'm thankful for the gospel. I feel so blessed to have the church in my life, and for how much peace it brings into our home!

I have a lot to be thankful about, and just hope that this Thanksgiving finds everyone in good health, and with a full belly!

My heart belongs to...Edward!

TWILIGHT
Edward
(The pic turned out a little blury...I think you get the picture though)
Ok so I'm not going to lie I was a little dissapointed that I wasn't going to be part of the Twilight action on Thursday @ 12:01. I had begged Chris to take me but we couldn't justify it with Lydia and so I never got tickets. To make matters worse my visiting teachers came over during the day and we talked about it forever, which only got me more excited. Then at Dance last night a few of the girls were talking about how they were going to the mid-night showing, I'm not going to lie my heart sank a little when I thought of how I wished I was going (YES I AM THAT PATHETIC!) Anyways at about 10:30 Brecke called me to tell me they had an extra ticket, you would've thought I had won the lottery. I hurried over to Jordon commons to meet Brecke, Jen and Tiffany. Let's be honest the theater was complete mayhem, people were hootin and hollering and I'll be honest it was pretty funny.

Then the movie started, now if you are a fan of the books I'm sure you felt like I did a little skeptical, could the movie really be as good as the book? Could Edward really pull it off. Well ladies I'm here to tell you that not only did it meet my every expectation, it surpassed it. I came away from the movie feeling like 2 hours seeing Edward on the big screen just wasn't enough. Every character was perfect, and exactly how I pictured them. They stayed to the story line perfectly and seriously I had chills for the better part of the movie because of those golden eyes! Now I will say there is one cheesy part, ok maybe a few but the one that really stuck out is "hold on tight spider monkey!" but let's be honest I would hold on like a spider monkey to Edward too (ha ha ha!)

Anyways it was amazing! Thanks girls for the invite and thanks Chris for letting me go, and for listening to me at 3:00 am rant and rave about it (p.s Chris, Edward could never compete with you babe, but he comes pretty close ha ha ha)

Lucky 7

I have been running in the day, and this is what I bundle Lydia up in...
my little snuggle bear!
7 months with her bunny

Profile shot
My little Liddy-bug is getting so big!
Well it is hard to believe but it's true...Lydia is 7 months today! It is absolutely amazing just how fun she has gotten. Here are a few things she has been doing.
1-We watch a little show called brainy baby every day, they sing nursery rhymns and I've never seen a child get so excited. She screams and laughs and jumps and can hardly contain her excitement.
2-She has also fallen in love with Che', mostly through the sliding glass door, but every time he comes around she starts squawking. I put her in her bumbo to the glass and they just sit and stare at eachother, it is pretty dang cute (i'm also trying to prepare Che' for when he can finally be around her!)
3-She is also starting to get on her knees and rock, it is the funniest thing, it almost looks like she's going to crawl and then she totally face plants it!
4-She has started to get attached to Chris and I, when we are there and someone else tries to hold her she will just start crying, and it's one of those sad cries not the fake.
5-Speaking of fake she does a fake cough and fake laugh that are just about the cutest things ever.
6-She is obsessed with her bottle, we have started to supplement with a bottle and when she see's it, it's over. She will wail and scream until that bottle is in her mouth. Then she can down about 6 oz. in about 5 minutes it's pretty impressive. And she get's the same way about her solids. For being such a petit little thing, she sure loves to eat!
7-The squeeze: when I'm changing her diaper she will squeeze my arm as hard as she can, at first I thought she was constipated because she get's that look but with a smile. But she does it every time, I think she thinks it's funny because she laughs about it afterwards!
8-Lydia loves other kids, it's almost like she has the instinct to know "Hey you are like me" when ever she see's another child whether it's at church, grocery store or on TV she get's all excited. She starts kicking and trying to reach for them. I think we are going to have a little social butterfly on our hands.
9-When Lydia get's really excited she starts panting, sort of like a dog. It sounds so funny and if you do it to her she will do it back.
10-Neck snuggles, when she first wakes up she is so happy and she will nestle her little head into the crease between my neck and shoulder. I love it, it is the closest thing I get to a cuddle from Lydia who is usually moving all the time
Well she is getting bigger and cuter every day, and keeping me busy! I love her to death and can't believe how quickly the time is flying by!

Nick and Janessa...a friend in need!

I just recieved the heart breaking news about a good friend of mine from high school. For those of you who know or knew Janessa (Morrison) Whatcott she was pregnant, but her little son Cole was born about a month early. Due to some very serious complications Cole was only with them for a few days. If you know Janessa she is one of the most kind and thoughtful people I know. They are having financial troubles with all of their medical bills and so if you know her, or are just as touched by this situation as I am you can go to www.colewhatcott.blogspot.com and donate to help relieve some of the burden of their loss. You can also read their heart breaking story in it's entirety. My love and prayers go out to Janessa and her family.

Viva Las Vegas

Well Chris and I decided to take a little road trip down to Vegas to see Jared and Stacey. We didn't get to go to St. George on the last trip and they aren't coming up for THanksgiving so it gave us a perfect excuse to go and visit them at their beautiful home. They live just outside of Vegas in Henderson. Their home is absolutely darling, they have done a great job of decorating and really making it feel like a home. We had a very busy couple of days and by the time we were heading home we were pooped. When you are looking at the pics you have to look at them from the bottom up (I'm still figuring out the whole picture thing on the blog.)
Anyways we got there Friday night at about 6:00 Vegas time and got Chilis to go and watched a really funny movie called "Closing Escrow" we stayed up way too late talking and just enjoying seeing Jared and Stacey again.
The pics should explain the rest of the trip!

We had so much fun and we were very sad to leave! Thanks guys for a great weekend! See ya at Christmas.

We couldn't believe it but it actually rained. Lydia woke up really early on SUnday so we just watched to storm roll in!

We played a little baseball...it was really fun, I haven't played in a long time!

Getting ready to go Play at the park!

What a cutie! She was so content just riding around looking at all the sights!

Poor Lydia kind of got cut off in this pic!

The lake

Jared and Stacey were so nice to take us around even though i'm sure they have seen it a million times.

On the dock checking out prices of rentals...ya too much for just an hour!

Jared and Stacey took us to "Lake Las Vegas" which is this cool community built around a man made lake. It is very posh with all kinds of eclectic shops and other fun attractions. (This is where Celine Dion lived while she was there doing her show!)

Is it winter already?

Well i'm not going to lie I was so excited to wake up yesterday and see snow on the ground. I have sort of a love/hate relationship with winter. So long as I don't have to drive in horrible snow storms, or deal with shoveling the walks daily I love it. I love the feeling of waking up after it has snowed and the world just seems so quiet and peacefull. In our old house I loved the smell of all the fire's, I think on the west side most homes have gas fireplaces. I love sipping hot chocolate and wearing warm sweats that are way too big. I love cuddling and being with family. Plus it just get's you in the mood for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

(I'm pretty excited about her new coat...I had to take the lining out though because she couldn't put her arms down with it in!)

And of course I love to snowboard, but this year I have decided to go back to my roots. I started out as a skier and I'm going to give it a go again. It has been 14 years since I have skied but I want to see if i've still got it. I have some pretty funny memories as a skier, Chelsea I'm sure you may remember a few like how we always wanted to go through the trees, and when you almost fell off of the ski lift at Brighton. Or when we wrote our names on our foreheads with Zinc but did it in the mirror so it looked weird to everyone else! Anyways I have a lot of fond memories and so I've decided to give it another chance.

It was also fun yesterday to get Lydia all bundled up in her winter coat and take her out to see the snow. She was pretty funny, she had this confused look on her face and she kept touching her nose when snowflakes would land on it. Even though I love winter, I will now have to become paranoid mom, to make sure that Lydia is always warm. Anyways I love winter and am pretty excited for all that it brings

(Lydia's play station...obviously something on the TV caught her eye!)

Who could it be now...?

You Decide 2008

Well election day is now upon us and the anticipation is almost too much to handle. I would be lying if I said that I don't care. Recently politics have just taken a hold on me (I know I have my dad to blame.) I just can't help but feel #1 we are so blessed to live in a country where we have rights, and whether we decide to excercise those rights or not, no one can take them away. #2 That we have choices...now i'm not saying that I love either of the choices that we were presented with today, but I do feel that we have an obligation to get out and let our voices be heard!

I will say this, throughout the presidential campaign process I really feel that you can see that there are many forces working against our country, I have never seen so much turmoil with gas prices, the economy and everything else seeming like it's falling down around us. But atleast we have the freedom to worship how we want. That is the reason I'm not a basket case every day that I watch the news and fill up my car...(which by the way was only $50.00 today, instead of the whopping $75.00 from before!) Anyways thank goodness for the gospel, and all I can say is that God knows what he is doing, whether we like it or not.

Also I know that President Bush according to the polls isn't a very popular president...what I have to say to that is neither was Lincoln, or Reagan but they have both been remembered as greats when it comes to presidents. I have a lot of respect for him as a person and especially as a leader of our country. Chris always teases me because in my mind it goes the prophet and then right below him Presiden Bush. I will be sad to see him go, but hope that he will enjoy his time out of the polls!

All in all we are so blessed to live in this country, to have the things we have. It's too bad that we don't realize it as a nation more often. So while we are all awaiting the news of who our new President will be, let's just be thankful that we had a say! If we survived Clinton for 8 years we can handle McCain or Obama for 4.

FLOWER POWER!

Ok I promise I'm done posting pics of Lydia in her costume after this...but I just got her prints that we had done professionally so here are a few!

Fact...we had a great Halloween!

Well for those of you who know about mine and CHris' obsession with the Office you won't be surprised by our costumes. I was actually excited to get dressed up this year because we had thought about it a while ago. So I went to Savers and got a couple of wigs, and a couple other things to pull off one of the cheapest halloween costumes ever. We went as Dwight and Angela from the office. I thought that Chris looked great, and mine was ok (I have already thought of about 5 ways I could've made mine better but oh well!)
Anyways we were so excited because for the first time we had trick-or-treaters! We gave bought full size candy bars for the past two years but in our old house we just never had any kids come. So this year Chris was pretty excited to see the kids faces light up when they saw full size candy bars.
After giving out candy we went to Lindsay and Dave's for a great Halloween party. It was so much fun to see what everyone was wearing and to catch up with people we haven't seen in a while. She had some great food and of course Rock band our favorite~! Thanks Lindsay and Dave and hopefully next year we will stay past 9:00 (ha ha ha!)
I took Lydia trick-or-treating at
Grandma and Grandpa Hardman's...
they even had bananas for her (ha ha ha!)
Dwight and Lydia...I think that Lydia was a little freaked out by the wigs. She wouldn't smile and got teary eyed when Chris came in the room the first time! Dwight Angela and their love Child!
Lydia and Brielle...we had to get a pic of the bumble bee and the flower~!
Brielle, Easton and Lydia...they were all such good sports for the pics!

My little flower girl!

Here are a few pics of Lydia in her Flower costume. We got some professional pics done on Halloween and I haven't gotten them back yet. I was actually surprised how well she did in her costume. I thought she would be pulling her hat off all night but she was great. She was pretty funny about all the attention and the pics, she almost seemed to be in a daze, like "what the heck is going on!"

This is my favorite pic of her holding on to grandpa's finger

Baby Girl

Baby Girl
This is our baby girl at 16 weeks. It was such an amazing thing to see her moving and count all of her fingers and toes for the first time. I know I bawled and Chris won't admitt it, but he was pretty emotional as well.

It's a girl!

It's a girl!

She's going to be a dancer
