Smart Start Soccer

So the Riverton Soccer League (USA) doesn't have soccer for 3 yr olds, but they do have what's called a "Smart Start" program. It is basically a little 6 week, mini workshop. After going for the first time I am glad that we put Lyd in this and not soccer. It cracked me up all she wanted to do at first was go and play on the playground.

Once we got going she actually really liked it and had a lot of fun. They basically move around in 4 different stations and practice different skills. They did, running, kicking, dribbling, and trapping. I myself never did soccer so in some ways I probably looked just as uncoordinated (ha ha ha!) I also may have been one of the only mom's doing this...all the other mom's were sitting on the sidelines watching the dad's (ha ha ha!)

Lining up for the run, as part of their warm-up
Lydia loved the running part.
Stretching...and I thought no one's legs could possibly be whiter then mine, I stand corrected my daughters are way whiter (ha ha ha!)
Warming up their legs.
Afterwards they did a little cheer
"YEAH!!!"
Lyd waiting for her treat...looking a little concerned.
gotta love treats!
Finally she got to play on the playground!

We did that for Basketball. It was great. We decided to try the actual soccer team this season.... should be interesting!

So smart to do this. I swear we all waste half of the soccer season while they get used to doing all of these types of things when they are little. She looks so grown up out there! And nice job on the run! Woohoo you even beat your time from the last one! It's totally cool that you got choked up. There's just something about running, and having all that time with your thoughts that makes you even more emotional to stuff like that. I love it!

I love that idea for 3 year olds...I wonder if Sandy has that? So cute how concerned Lydia looks while waiting for her treat (LOL). Looks like she really enjoys it!

This is my favorite pic of her holding on to grandpa's finger

Baby Girl
This is our baby girl at 16 weeks. It was such an amazing thing to see her moving and count all of her fingers and toes for the first time. I know I bawled and Chris won't admitt it, but he was pretty emotional as well.

It's a girl!

It's a girl!

She's going to be a dancer
